What Should Women Be Doing?!
Una Þorleifsdóttir and Ebba Katrín Finnsdóttir invite guests and passersby to experience the outcome of their workshop on Saturday, June 28th, between 1 and 3 PM, where they will premiere scenes and present work-in-progress material from their newly written play, “What Should Women Be Doing?!”
Over the past four weeks, Ebba and Una have hosted an open workshop in Gunnfríðargryfja, where they’ve explored, through writing and performative experiments, the roles, realities, and status of women and gender expression. The project is inspired by the book Konur sem kjósa – aldarsaga (Women Who Vote – A Century of Struggle), by Erla Hulda Halldórsdóttir, Kristín Svava Tómasdóttir, Ragnheiður Kristjánsdóttir, and Þorgerður H. Þorvaldsdóttir.
The material generated during the workshop will be presented on June 28th — in the form of texts and inspirations pinned to the walls, performed excerpts, and embodied actions. The outcome is a diverse collection of works: texts, narratives, videos, and performances, forming the foundation for a larger stage production.
At the closing event on June 28th at 1 PM, the results will be presented by Una and Ebba, joined by special guests — and the fjallkona.
Free entry and light refreshments.
