As part of Womens’ Year, Hafnarfjörður Municipal Library celebrates Svava Jakobsdóttir – a writer, playwright, member of parliament and activist- on her birthday, October 4th. Join us for an insight into this great woman’s work, led by Sjöfn Asare of Lestrarklefinn and reading of Svava’s short stories by actresses María Thelma and Bergdís Júlía of Spindrift Theatre.
In correlation to this celebration, the Library will present a selection of media about and by Svava.
The event is a part of a collaboration project between public libraries in Iceland and the Womens’ Year association, funded by the Library Fund.
