Móðir, kona, meyja

On the occasion of Kvennaár, an excerpt from the work Móðir, kona, meyja by actress Sesselía Ólafsdóttir will be shown. The work is about three women who do not know each other but meet in a house to read. They are of different ages, one recently graduated from high school, one approaching forty and one in her sixties. The youngest loves to dance, the forty-year-old prefers to just read in peace and the oldest is excited to introduce the others to the poems and stories of Icelandic female poets. None of them are at all happy with their circumstances, but they gradually come to realize that they can learn a lot from each other.
