Dare, can and want – Graduale Nobili

Graduale Nobili will hold a concert in Hörpuhorn on the occasion of Women’s Year 2025.

The program includes a variety of choral works by Jórunn Viðar, Mist Þorkelsdóttir, Bára Grímsdóttir, Hildigunnur Rúnarsdóttir, Eygló Höskuldsdóttir Viborg and others.The choir is conducted by Sunna Karen Einarsdóttir.

The concert is about one hour long, without intermission. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

The Graduale Nobili choir is made up of 20 members aged 18-30, all of whom have studied music. Graduale Nobili has won awards in international choral competitions around the world and premiered numerous works by both Icelandic and foreign composers.The choir attracted great attention when it sang on Björk Guðmundsdóttir’s album, Biophilia, and accompanied her on concert tours for almost two winters. In 2014, the choir’s Christmas concert was broadcast on television both on RÚV and around Europe, and in 2017, the choir sang with the band Fleet Foxes in Eldborg on Iceland Airwaves. The choir has also released several albums, including In paradisum (2008), Ten Years (2010), A Ceremony Of Carols – Dancing Day (2011) and Vökuró (2022).

Graduale Nobili was founded in 2000 by Jón Stefánsson (1946 – 2016), former organist and choirmaster at Langholtskirkja Church. The choir celebrates its 25th anniversary and held an anniversary concert in May 2025 where the choir premiered, among other things, a new work by Eygló Höskuldsdóttir Viborg, a former member of the choir.
