WIFT’s Women Year Cinema – Kitchen Sink Revolution

WIFT Iceland, the association of women in film and television, will have a Women’s Year screening of the film Kitchen Sink Revolution by Halla Kristín Einarsdóttir on October 20, at 7:00 PM in Bíó Paradís.

After the screening, Halla Kristín Einarsdóttir will talk about the making of the film and answer questions from the audience.

„Kitchen Sink Revolution“ is about the colorful women’s struggle of the 1980s and 1990s. The film traces the history of the Women’s League and other women’s liberation movements during their heyday and what happens when grassroots organizations storm the organized system. However, we end up in 2015 after several trips, including to Afghanistan.

Most of the interviewees are nationally known for their work in various fields. Among others are Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, Ragnhildur Gísladóttir, Salome Þorkelsdóttir, Edda Björgvinsdóttir, Þórhildur Þorleifsdóttir, Kristín Ástgeirsdóttir, Sigríður Dúna Kristmundsdóttir, Guðrún Agnarsdóttir and many more champions”
