Immigrant Women’s Voices: Turning Points

Vendipunktar invites local politicians and councillors, advocacy organizations, members of the community and those with lived experience of coming from another country to live in Iceland to join us, for a creative conversation.

Vendipunktar tells the story of women who have, over the last 1000 years, come from other countries to make Iceland their home. Sometimes for love, sometimes seeking safety, and sometimes without choice. In a mix of live and filmed performance, we meet women from the Icelandic sagas to the present day and hear their stories.

After the performance, writers and researchers Emily Lethbridge and Sarah Woods invite you to join a bespoke innovative and human-centred process which, drawing on Action Research, Participatory Democracy and Legislative Theatre practices, will enable us to have a new kind of conversation about where we are now and where we want to be.
