Hekla and the Matriarchy at Culture Night

Hekla and the Matriarchy is a feminist cover-band that writes Icelandic lyrics on known pop-songs, that revolve around womanhood and the patriarchy. The band consists of four adult feminists and one eleven year drummer who outplays everyone else.

Hekla and the Matriarchy will sing songs on the men of Tinder, being pregnant for the second time and the reality of being eleven… and having parents who think they’re so cool.

Hekla and the Matriarchy will play twice, with the same set list at Mál og menning, fyrst at 14:00 and then at 15:00.
